Viceroy butterflies have orange and black wings with a black line across the hindwing and white dots on the black band.

Its wingspan is 2 to 3 inches.

Viceroy butterflies live in moist open or shrubby areas, wed meadows or swamp edges.

They can be found in the eastern United States.

Host Plants: willos, poplars, cottonwoods

Nectar Plants: honeydew, aster, goldenrod, thistle
