Spicebush Swallowtail butterflies have black wings with ivory spots with orange spots. The underwing has pale green scales.

Its wingspan is 3 to 4 inches.

Spicebush Swallowtail butterflies live in woodlands, fields, roadsides and swamps.

They can be found in the Eastern United States and as far west as Oklahoma.

Host Plants: spicebush, sassafras, sweetbay, redbay

Nectar Plants: honeysuckle, thistles, milkweed, azalea, mimosa
