Painted Lady butterflies have orange brown wings with a black patch and white bar. The underside of their wings have a black, brown and gray pattern with four eyespots.

Its wingspan is 2 to 3 inches.

Painted Lady butterflies live in gardens, fields and dunes.

They can be found in North and South America as well as Europe, Africa and Asia.

Host Plants: thistles, hollhock, mallow

Nectar Plants:thistles, aster, cosmos, ironweed, red clover, milkweed
